The Waltham Forest Food Growers Network (WFFGN) is a community network coordinated by OrganicLea CIC. We connect and support food growers, community gardens, growers’ groups and local residents across Waltham Forest.
We aim to build a more connected, accessible, anti-racist and ecologically just local food-growing movement.
1. About the Waltham Forest Food Growers Network
The Waltham Forest Food Growers Network (WFFGN) is a community network coordinated by OrganicLea CIC. We connect and support food growers, community gardens, growers’ groups and local residents across Waltham Forest.
We aim to build a more connected, accessible, anti-racist and ecologically just local food-growing movement.
2. Membership
Membership is open to anyone who supports the aims and values of the network. By becoming a member, you agree to these Membership Terms & Community Agreements.
Membership may include access to:
- Newsletters and updates
- WhatsApp and other community communication groups
- WFFGN events and activities
- Community organising opportunities
- Future member benefits such as discounts, seed libraries or resource sharing initiatives
Membership benefits may change over time depending on the capacity, priorities and resources of the network.
3. Membership payments and subscriptions
- Membership subscriptions are processed securely through Stripe.
- Membership payments renew automatically unless cancelled.
- You may cancel your membership subscription at any time.
- Where possible, we ask members to cancel before the next renewal date.
- Refund requests will be considered fairly and sympathetically.
4. Community values and participation
WFFGN is an anti-racist, anti-oppressive and community-centred network. We aim to create spaces that are welcoming, respectful, inclusive and supportive for people from a wide range of backgrounds, identities and experiences.
We ask members to:
- Treat others with respect and care
- Avoid discriminatory, abusive or harmful behaviour
- Support safer and more inclusive community spaces
- Respect boundaries and consent
- Contribute constructively to shared spaces and activities
These expectations apply to:
- In-person events and activities
- Online meetings and workshops
- WhatsApp groups and digital spaces
- Communication with members, volunteers and coordinators
5. WhatsApp groups and online spaces
Participation in WhatsApp groups or similar online spaces is optional. Members joining these groups should be aware that other participants may be able to see their:
- Phone number
- Display name
- Profile image
- Messages and interactions within the group
Community expectations and values apply equally in digital spaces. Coordinators may moderate discussions and remove participants where necessary to maintain safer and respectful spaces.
6. Events and activities
Members participating in events and activities are responsible for taking reasonable care of their own wellbeing and safety. Some activities may involve gardening, tools, outdoor spaces, food preparation or physical activity.
Members are expected to follow any health, safety or accessibility guidance provided by organisers.
WFFGN and OrganicLea CIC are not responsible for loss, damage or injury arising from participation except where required by law.
We are committed to improving accessibility and reducing barriers to participation wherever reasonably possible.
7. Privacy and data protection
Personal information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
We collect only the information reasonably necessary to administer memberships, communicate with members and support the development of the network.
Optional equality monitoring information may be collected to help us understand participation, inclusion and barriers within the network.
8. Changes to membership terms
We may update these Membership Terms & Community Agreements from time to time. Where changes are significant, we will make reasonable efforts to notify members.
The latest version will always be available through our website or membership platform.
